Pipes & Pizza at St. Dunstan’s

Organist Leo Marchildon invites any youth or young adults who wish to learn more about the pipe organ to come and visit the loft of St. Dunstan’s Basilica at noon on Saturday April 28 for a special program designed to showcase the astounding capabilities of this magnificent machine. Following a mini organ concert featuring music from Bach to Star Wars, attendees will have an opportunity to go behind the console and explore the inner workings of the pipe organ, and even get some hands-on time playing the instrument. Pizza will then be served in the basement as a reward for those who survive the experience!

This event is sponsored by the PEI chapter of the Royal Canadian College of Organists, whose mandate it is to educate and promote organ and choral music throughout the Island. As vice-president for the RCCO, Mr. Marchildon is pleased to be able to offer this unique introduction to the King of Instruments in the hopes of inspiring a new generation of organists to emerge from our youth.
